Job Overview

The Welder / Assembly Technician assists with the fabrication and assembly of PyroGenesis’ systems/equipment

Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Welding parts
  • Performing inspection and maintenance of equipment
  • Performing manual welding (TIG) or semi-automatic welding (MIG) on carbon and stainless steel using many types of welding equipment set up in a variety of positions, such as flat, vertical horizontal, and overhead
  • Performing other assembly and fabrication tasks
  • Planning work from drawings or specifications and selecting fluxes and base metals
  • Selecting and setting up the welding equipment
  • Examining welds to ensure that they meet standards or specifications
  • Pre-fitting of welded assemblies
  • Perform other duties as required by the immediate supervisor and for which the person is qualified

Education & Qualifications

  • Diploma of vocational studies (DEP) in Welding or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Gas Tungsten Arc (TIG) and Gas Metal Arc (MIG) welding
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Experience welding stainless steel and aluminum
  • Organized & detail-oriented
  • Able to lift heavy loads
  • Hand-eye -coordination
  • Team player
  • FR

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
