Job Overview

The Quality Engineer will have the primary responsibility of developing and maintaining production quality standards. He will provide QA support to Operations, in ensuring that a product or service provides a high level of quality that meets customer expectation and in ensuring that goals and objectives are achieved for PyroGenesis.

Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Develop inspection methods to analyze product quality
  • Assist Engineering on resolving customer quality issues
  • Will be responsible for statistical and trends analysis of processes performances
  • Improve product quality by making recommendations for change
  • Work together with relevant teams and departments to improve products
  • Ensure products adhere to company and industry quality standards
  • Brainstorm ideas to create solutions for identified problems (Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, and Lean Manufacturing)
  • Formulate a strategic plan to increase productivity in the business
  • Document results and findings after inspections are carried out
  • Implement a working system to ensure conformity and accuracy in the production process
  • Perform other duties as required by the immediate supervisor and for which the person is qualified

Education & Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in engineering
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing Process Flow, Corrective Action Process, and Problem-Solving Methodologies (5-Why, 8D, Fishbone, etc.)
  • Extensive experience in a quality assurance environment required
  • High proficiency in computer technology and systems operations
  • Strong knowledge of ISO9001: 2015 and AS9100D
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • In-depth understanding of industry market trends and conditions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, CPK analysis, and PPAP)
  • Familiarity with inspection procedures
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work efficiently in a team environment
  • Basic mathematical arithmetic skills
  • English is required for this position as we serve an international clientele

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Root cause analysis and problem-solving experience preferred
