Job Overview

The Electrical & Automation Senior Engineer is responsible for leading the electrical and automation design team. He will coordinate activities of the department, will assume a leading role in electrical design and will approve all the design performed by the department.

Responsibilities & Tasks

As part of the Pyro Green-Gas, located on Peel Street, Montreal, the candidate would be responsible to:

  • Prepare functional descriptions of controls and sequence of operation
  • Perform troubleshooting and find solutions to various type of issues in the field
  • Develop Synoptic diagram, control cabinet schematic diagram, professional P&ID, and automation documentation
  • Perform hazardous location analysis and select equipment according to hazardous location requirement
  • Approve all electrical design documents and drawings according to OIQ requirements
  • Analyse design specifications and customer requirements
  • Support commissioning of Pyro Green-Gas system from office or at customer site
  • Perform other duties as required by the immediate supervisor and for which the person is qualified

Education & Qualifications

  • Engineer and member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • Knowledge of Electrical Codes, Safety laws and related international standards such CE directives and IEC standards
  • Ability to prepare electrical installation and electrical equipment cost estimate
  • Knowledge of ESA, SCA approval requirements and knowledge of FAT
  • Team player / Reliable / Autonomous / Available / Responsible
  • Experience with selecting electrical industrial component such as relays, circuit breakers, sensors, etc. and general process instruments.
  • Knowledge in PLC and HMI Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Schneider
  • Familiar with programs: Studio 5000, Factory Talk View Studio, Siemens TIA Step 7, EcoStruxure control expert
  • Electrical knowledge (motor control, sensor, machine safety, etc.); and power application and distribution
  • Industrial Networks understanding and configuration such as Ethernet/IP, ProfNet and Modbus TCP/IP
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical or E-Plan
