Job Overview
The electrical / instrumentation foreman role is principally to lead the electrical and instrumentation construction activities at fabrication shops and client facilities and assist the service team with commissioning.
Responsibilities & Tasks
- Review constructability of projects with engineering team and pro-actively suggest constructive modifications to facilitate Construction, Final Acceptance Tests (FAT), and Commissioning Tests
- Prepare/Review electrical Bill of Materials (BOM) for projects and issue purchase requests for all necessary equipment for a safe and robust installation (cables, connectors, electrical boxes, cable tagging systems, special tools, trays, conduits etc.)
- Go to fabrication shops and do the initial electrical installation
- Go onsite for the duration of installation and lead local electrical crews prior to commissioning
- Assist in the scaling, adjustment, and verification of field-installed instruments (flow controllers, valves, pressure switches, linear actuators, flowmeters, radio remote control, temperature instruments etc.)
- Redline drawings and plans to reflect as-built installation

Perform other duties as required by the immediate supervisor and for which the person is qualified
Education & Qualifications
- DEC in instrumentation and automation or equivalent,
- Resourcefulness, Leadership, Team-oriented
- Certificate in Electricity (CÉ), or Red Seal Construction Electrician
- Familiarity with CSA 22.10, NEC (NFPA 70), CE directives
- Willingness to travel all around the world
- Good health and sufficiently fit to perform field installation work
- Any foreign language a plus
- Bilingual (written and spoken)
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- Worked in large industrial construction projects (mining and metals, aluminum, cement, water-treatment, oil & gas etc.) or in a similar position for an industrial OEM
